The Atlantic City Rescue Mission Appeals for Funds

With bachelor’s degrees in both biochemistry and marketing & business administration, Brian Petruzzi is an entrepreneur who heads 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria in New Jersey. In addition, Brian Petruzzi backs the Atlantic City Rescue Mission (ACRM), an organization that provides much-needed services to the homeless population of Atlantic City.

In May 2017, the ACRM put out an appeal to all of its supporters for help in raising $500,000 for refurbishing its kitchens and replacing worn-out equipment. Of particular concern is the organization's eight ovens, of which only two work, and its steamer, which has stopped working. Further, the ACRM’s pizza oven is quickly losing functionality, while its dishwasher is prone to malfunctions.

In addition to asking for donations from supporters, the ACRM will hold a fundraising gala with speakers that include the Philadelphia 76ers vice president of communications, Dave Sholler, and the acclaimed violinist and motivational speaker, Roddy Chong. The Importance of the Wetsuit in Scuba Diving

As the founder and CEO of 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria in Galloway, New Jersey, Brian Petruzzi is responsible for managing and implementing all of the restaurant’s culinary and marketing strategies, as well as franchise expansion efforts. Away from work, Brian Petruzzi counts scuba diving as one of his favorite outdoor pursuits.

One of the most essential pieces of equipment for scuba divers is the wetsuit. While the mask and breathing apparatus may seem like the logical first purchases for a beginning diver, some experts suggest purchasing a wetsuit before buying anything else. The first reason has to do with hygiene. Many people will use a rental wetsuit over the course of its lifetime. While shops do use cleaning products to sanitize the suits after use, some divers feel more comfortable wearing a suit that has not been worn by other people.

The other primary reason a suit should be at the top of the purchase list is the importance of the fit. Since the wet suit’s major function is retaining body heat, a suit that doesn’t fit properly will not hold the body's heat well. Buying a suit that is a precise fit for one’s body type ensures maximum heat preservation.

Keys to Effective Piano Practice

Based in New Jersey, Brian Petruzzi is an entrepreneur who oversees the growth of several different companies, including the 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria franchise. For recreation, Brian Petruzzi enjoys playing the piano and practicing classical pieces. To get the most out of a practice session at the piano, players need to focus, which means sitting down with a specific goal in mind. By setting and reaching goals, piano players can see the progress they are making, which encourages them to practice even more. When players feel they are getting off track, they may panic and rush on to new goals. However, it is better to master one goal today and tackle another tomorrow than to not quite accomplish either goal. The brain can become overwhelmed with too much information, so making short and attainable goals, such as mastering one contained passage, is more effective than trying to master an entire piece. Jumping around between goals demonstrates a lack of focus. Celebrated pianist Daniel Barenboim says that concentration is the fundamental necessity for practice. A few minutes of concentrated practice is ultimately better than a few hours of practice with a wandering mind.
